Welcome to Saving Money with Andrew! There’s a good chance you’ve received an email like this from Google before: You have a couple of options when you’ve filled up your Google storage. Delete Stuff (Free) First, go to Google’s cleanup tool (scroll down past the Google One ad) and check to see if there are any large files, particularly large videos, you can easily delete.
Everyone's moving to these subscription models of monthly/yearly plans. Google has huge power to increase prices. Try moving all your photos from Google/Mac to anywhere else that's not their ecosystem, it's cumbersome.
Better to have them under our control especially for storage of photos and documents.
- How often do you even access all your digital content? It wasn't that frequent even with our physical memorabilia
- And what these storage services are offering us is redundancy (not losing them) and convenience.
I just keep multiple copies on actual physical storage (On my laptop and SD card/HDD and a Pen drive). Way cheaper.
