Welcome to Saving Money with Andrew!
Artificial intelligence tools have been getting tons of attention over the last couple of years, and they just keep improving. Most recently, I tried NotebookLM, which is an AI-powered “research assistant”. You upload documents on a certain topic, and then it can summarize, answer questions, and even create a podcast with virtual hosts discussing what you uploaded (more discussion in the WSJ here).
So what did I do? I took a few of my favorite posts, uploaded them to NotebookLM, and had it generate a podcast about them. There are a couple of confusing moments, but I was mostly blown away by how useful and engaging it was. Listen to it below!
Disclaimer - this discussion was AI-generated (the hosts are not real!) and should not be relied upon. But I listened to it and found it really interesting.
And now, Andrew’s pick(s) of the week:
Bankruptcy Took Down the Redbox Machine. If Only Someone Could Take Them Away.
The Wealthy Are Paying Big Money to Pump Oxygen Into Their Mountain Homes
TreasuryDirect to Bond Buyers: Moving Your Money Could Take a Year
A Godfather of AI Just Won a Nobel. He Has Been Warning the Machines Could Take Over the World.
I hope this has been helpful. If you liked it, please share it on social media! Also, please send me your feedback, requests, and success stories.
You are like a treasure trove of savings! The voices are pretty incredible.
The Notebook LLM team has been grinding and able to get so much done with AI using the "Labs" cover where other teams have gotten really sidelined by approvals and frankly risk averse PR teams.
