Oh are there indications that the $50k cash into a shoebox article is untrue? I've been flabbergasted that a financial advice column writer would take that much risk with her career in publishing a piece like that.
I get 3% cash back on online shopping through the Bank of America cash rewards card. This is my personal card and I buy a lot of clothes online (🤷🏻♀️).
Thots on the Costco Citi card... esp. if someone drives a lot (4% back on gas/ev charging, 3% resturants/travel costco [i fly a lot], 2% costco 1% all others).
Not bad, as long as you only use it for gas/ev, restaurants/travel, and costco. For all other purchases, a card earning at least 2% rewards would be better.
We use the Alliant Visa which has 2.5% cash back that’s relatively easy for us to maintain. https://www.nerdwallet.com/reviews/credit-cards/alliant-cashback
Seems interesting, as long as you're comfortable with them as your main bank. Thanks for mentioning!
Double cash is the 2% baseline for me. A combination of discover it, chase freedom and Citi custom gets you 5% for most purchases.
