Microsoft Enters The Cashback Wars
Welcome to Saving Money with Andrew!
Cashback is one of the easiest and most effective ways to save on shopping online. Since 2011, I’ve saved $3,228 from using cashback websites, all from just clicking through a link on another website before doing my online shopping.
And so it was big news to me that Microsoft now offers cashback via the Microsoft Cashback program. For now, they’re offering high cashback rates with major retailers (e.g., up to 7% back at Walmart), plus a targeted offer of $10 cash back on each of two $25 orders. The only catch? You have to use the Microsoft Edge browser to earn the cashback.[1]
Microsoft also offers real-world cashback program in which you take photos of receipts in the Bing app, and it will automatically find discounts on items you’ve purchased. I’ve scanned three receipts so far, earning $1.53 in cashback, and will try it a bit longer to see if there’s any real savings.
If you don’t use cashback for online shopping yet, I urge you to take a look at my guide and give it a try. It quickly becomes an automatic (and lucrative) habit.
