Boy, That Escalated Quickly
Welcome to Saving Money with Andrew!
Last week, I wrote about our car, which has now been at the dealership for 26 days with no end in sight. We’ll likely be without the car for at least another couple of weeks. Increasingly it looks like we may make a claim under our state’s lemon law.
We called our state attorney general office’s helpline. According to them (and their helpful website), if our car is still at the dealership on day 30, we can file an arbitration claim via email. In the claim, we can request a replacement vehicle or, as long as our car has fewer than 12,000 miles on it, a full refund. While we may be required to appear at a hearing, the entire process may just take place via email.
And so the countdown begins. Will the dealership fix our car before day 30? Or will we go to arbitration? Stay tuned.
And now, Andrew’s pick(s) of the week:
Some interesting links this week (hat tip to Zvi’s amazing newsletter for a couple of them).
Are passwords going to be a thing of the past? Google, Apple, and Microsoft seem to think so.
Is America slowly being overrun by wild pigs? This incredible article about these invasive animals also illustrates how hard it is to deal with a problem, even when everyone agrees it’s a problem.
Please, please don’t gamble, especially not on sports.
If you are a reader of a certain age, you probably enjoyed Super Mario 64. But did you know that random people on the Internet have re-created The Beatles’ White Album and Abbey Road solely using the sounds from those games?
I hope this has been helpful. If you liked it, please share it on social media! Also, please send me your feedback, requests, and success stories.
